[02-09-2023] Kern County, CA - Unidentified Pedestrian Struck and Killed by a Vehicle on Highway 99An unidentified person was fatally struck by a vehicle in Bakersfield on Thursday night, February 9, 2023.

Authorities confirmed that the collision transpired around 8:30 p.m. on southbound Highway 99, just south of the Panama Lane exit.

Reports indicated that officers were notified of the crash, discovered a body on the ground, and determined the deceased was hit by a vehicle.

The California Highway Patrol stated that they were escorting vehicles away from the scene of the collision.

Drivers on southbound Highway 99 were advised to take an alternate route or be prepared for slow traffic around the Panama Lane exit.
