Authorities reported that a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Pico Rivera early Monday morning, February 20, 2023.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred shortly after 3:00 a.m. on the southbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway at Rose Hills Road.
Little information is known at the moment. The victim’s identification and the circumstances leading to the crash remain unclear. No further details on the driver involved were released.
CHP officers were seen investigating the fatality while a body beneath a yellow cover lay in one of the highway’s lanes.
The crash caused all southbound lanes to be shut down for roughly an hour before being reopened.
