[03-08-2024] Los Angeles County, CA – 15-Year-Old Girl Killed, Driver Injured After Pursuit Led To Reckless Vehicle Collision in Long Beach

A 15-year-old girl was killed, and a driver was injured after a pursuit led to a reckless multi-vehicle collision in Long Beach on early Friday morning, March 8, 2024.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, the collision happened around 1:38 a.m. in the area of 7th Street and Orange Avenue.

Authorities stated that the responding officials were pursuing a suspect driving a stolen vehicle with a 15-year-old girl inside. The vehicle was heading westbound on 7th Street at high speed when it crashed into five additional vehicles and lost control.

Police said that another driver was injured and treated at the scene. The girl inside the stolen car was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries and later died on March 13.

The driver of the stolen car fled the scene following the crash. Information on the suspect was not immediately available.

No further details were disclosed. The investigation continues.
