[03-16-2024] San Diego County, CA – 19-Year-Old Male Rider Seriously Injured Following Motorcycle Vs. Vehicle Collision Along Regents Road

A 19-year-old male rider was seriously injured following a motorcycle vs. vehicle collision in San Diego on Saturday afternoon, March 16, 2024.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the accident occurred around 1:25 p.m. in the 9000 block of Regents Road, along the University neighborhood.

SDPD said that a 2010 Toyota Corolla driven by an unnamed 32-year-old man pulled out onto Regents Road in front of the victim’s 2016 Kawasaki motorcycle. For some reason, the motorcycle collided with the car, seriously injuring the rider.

Authorities confirmed that the victim suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, particularly open fractures to his tibia/fibula and left femur. He was taken to a nearby hospital for medical care.

Driver impairment is not seen as a possible factor in the crash. Police are still investigating.
