[03-17-2024] Los Angeles County, CA – One Person Killed, Five Others Hospitalized Following Two-Vehicle Crash Along I-10 in University Park

One person was killed, and five others were hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash in University Park, Los Angeles, on Sunday afternoon, March 17, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal incident occurred around 3:00 p.m. along Interstate 10 near the Hoover Street ramps.

Reports indicate that a severely damaged pickup truck and a Tesla were found at the scene, surrounded by debris.

A 26-year-old man named Jordy Martin R. was pronounced dead at the scene. A 29-year-old woman and four children were taken to the hospital in serious-to-critical condition.

An adult man received treatment on-site and was not hospitalized. The ages of the injured children were 3 months, 6, 7, and 10 years old.

The authorities have not released further information about the cause of the fatal crash.
