According to the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety, the fatal collision occurred around 6:50 a.m. between Lawrence Expressway and Arques Avenue.

Reports indicate that the motorcyclist was heading north when he made a left turn and collided with a driver heading south.

The rider succumbed to his major injuries at the scene. The driver sustained minor injuries and remained on site to cooperate with the authorities.

Alcohol and drugs were dismissed as factors in the fatal collision. Investigations are underway.
