[03-18-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Man Rescued from 15-Foot Construction Hole in Pomona

A man was rescued from a 15-foot-deep construction hole after falling into it in Pomona on Wednesday afternoon, March 18, 2026.

According to the Pomona Police Department, the incident occurred shortly after 1:00 p.m. in the area of Gillette Road and Fairplex Drive.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded, with one rescuer being lowered into the hole to secure the man, while other rescuers leaned over the edge to assist.

At one point, fire crews lowered an oxygen tank to the man before he was hoisted out of the hole shortly before 3:30 p.m.

Reports say the man was placed on a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance. He was transported to Pomona Valley Hospital, but his condition remains unknown. It is also unclear how he fell into the construction zone.

The investigation is ongoing.
