According to the Ceres Police Department, the fatal crash occurred at about 12:32 a.m. at 2700 Mitchell Road.

Responders from Modesto Fire and American Medical Rescue were also dispatched to the scene. The circumstances that led to the crash remain under investigation.

The medics declared the pedestrian dead at the site, despite life-saving procedures. The victim’s identity was not released and whether the vehicle remained on site was not disclosed.

As the investigation continues, investigators are requesting witnesses to get in touch with them.
