[04-06-2023] Female Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Pickup Truck in Sun Valley Hit-and-Run CrashA female pedestrian was killed after being struck by a pickup truck that left the scene after the crash in Sun Valley, Los Angeles, on Thursday night, April 06, 2023.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the fatal hit-and-run crash occurred shortly after 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Keswick Street and Laurel Canyon Boulevard, north of North Hollywood.

The driver was traveling south on Laurel Canyon when they allegedly ran the red light at the junction, striking the victim crossing the street at the crosswalk. The truck was described as an older Nissan or Toyota with a two-tone blue and damage to its front left corner.

After being transported to a local hospital, the victim, a woman in her 50s, was later declared dead. Her identity was kept private until her next of kin were informed.

She was believed to be going home after doing laundry. The street where the crash occurred was littered with clothing, linens, and a laundry cart.

The truck is seen backing into a parking lot in security camera footage released by LAPD on Friday.

The search continues, and anyone with information is urged to contact the authorities.
