What To Do After A Pedestrian Accident

If you get involved in a pedestrian accident in Sacramento, you must know the next things you should do. This way, you can protect your rights and strengthen your claim. Here are some recommendations on what you can do after an accident:

  1. If possible, move to a safe location away from traffic.
  2. Call 911. Report the accident and request emergency assistance.
  3. Seek medical attention as soon as possible. Even if you feel fine, some injuries may not show immediate symptoms. A medical evaluation is essential to diagnose and document any injuries.
  4. Capture images of the accident scene, vehicles, crosswalks, traffic signs, and your injuries. Collect names, phone numbers, and addresses of the driver, witnesses, and anyone else involved. Record the driver’s license number, vehicle make and model, and insurance information.
  5. Do not admit fault or make any statements that could be used against you later. Simply provide the necessary information to law enforcement and your insurance company.
  6. Call (888) 488-1391 and schedule a free case review with our experienced Sacramento pedestrian accident attorneys.
