According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly collision involving a tractor-trailer occurred at about 2:40 a.m. on eastbound Highway 132, west of Gate Road.
An unidentified man was operating a Nissan pickup eastward on the highway while driving west. It then collided head-on with a big rig traveling east. The driver reportedly succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The big rig’s 32-year-old driver, Gerardo R., and its 33-year-old passenger, Maria R., both from Lodi, sustained minor wounds. A 3-year-old boy was unharmed after being securely restrained in the sleeper berth area.
The pickup was believed to have been traveling west on SR-132 in the eastbound lane. It’s unclear whether the driver wore a seatbelt before the collision.

What to Do After a Car Accident
If injured, get in touch with a doctor right away. Any hidden injury that will surface later can be identified and addressed before it has a chance to worsen.
It is crucial to notify the right authorities of any events involving large vehicles. It’s important that a police report is filed.
When communicating with the law or an insurance company, it is essential to be forthright and not make any assumptions. Do not accept any settlement before seeing a lawyer and weighing your choices.
If the victim tries to apologize, even though they are completely blameless, the insurance company may refuse to pay. So don’t act that way.
If you request it, the relevant authorities should provide you with a complete copy of the report. You can also use the online form on this page. Without this information, we cannot look into your claim.
Our top California car accident attorneys will provide you with their undivided attention throughout your free consultation.
