[04-16-2022] Los Angeles County, CA – Bicycle Crash on Crystal Springs Drive Results in One Death

The collision occurred at approximately 3:50 p.m. in the 4400 block of Crystal Springs Drive in the Griffith Park area.

A man estimated to be in his 70s was riding a bicycle in the area when he was suddenly struck by a northbound vehicle.

Due to the severity of the impact, the bicycle rider fell on the roadway and suffered blunt force trauma. Unfortunately, he could not survive his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver initially fled the scene but was later apprehended by authorities. Intoxication was suspected to be a factor in the accident.

An active investigation of the crash is currently underway.
