[04-16-2023] San Bernardino County, CA – One Person Killed After Pedestrian Accident in Joshua Tree

A 30-year-old male was killed after a pedestrian accident in Joshua Tree, San Bernardino County, early Sunday morning, April 16, 2023.

According to the California Hidghway Patrol, the deadly incident occurred around 5:00 a.m. in the eastbound right lane of State Route 62, west of Hillview Road.

The victim, reportedly from Yucca Valley, was walking along the highway when the driver, 69-year-old Yucca Valley resident Kevin A., struck him in the same lane.

The unidentified pedestrian was taken to the hospital and was later pronounced dead. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

The fatal crash is still under investigation by the CHP. Alcohol and drugs did not seem to be factors in the accident.
