[04-20-2023] Los Angeles County, CA – Hit-and-Run Driver Leaves Victim Trapped in Wrecked Car in Lancaster

A driver was trapped and injured after a hit-and-run collision in Lancaster on Thursday evening, April 20, 2023.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to the incident at the Lancaster Boulevard and 5th Street East intersection at about 8:52 p.m.

When Lancaster deputies arrived, they found a Chevy Cruz with extensive body damage and the driver trapped inside. Firefighters from Los Angeles County Fire Station 33 also responded to the scene and used the Jaws of Life to release the driver.

The other vehicle that sped off is described as a white truck with a camper top.

The driver, who had unspecified injuries, opted for a private ride to the hospital rather than an ambulance.

The incident is still under investigation.
