A 30-year-old man died after running into the path of a teen driver in Fresno County past midnight on Saturday, April 22, 2023.
The California Highway Patrol’s Fresno Area Communication Center received a report of a pedestrian running into the roadway on Mount Whitney Avenue, Fresno County, and getting hit by a 2005 Nissan 350Z.
The pedestrian was hit by the front of the Nissan, causing fatal injuries that resulted in his death at the scene. The teen driver attempted to avoid the pedestrian but could not do so. The identity was not yet released until the next of kin was notified.
The 16-year-old driver was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs. However, it is unknown if the pedestrian is under the influence.
The investigation is still ongoing.
