A pedestrian died following a hit-and-run collision in Castro Valley, Alameda County, on Tuesday night, April 22, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 11:50 p.m. at the intersection of Center Street and Castro Valley Boulevard.
Responding officers confirmed the pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle and that the driver had fled the scene.
The pedestrian was transported to the hospital but did not survive. Officers later located both the vehicle and the suspected driver, who was taken into custody without incident.
The crash remains under investigation.
