A motorcyclist sustained moderate to major injuries following a collision on southbound Interstate 5 in Castaic on Wednesday afternoon, April 22, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported at around 1:15 p.m. and may have involved a Ford F-250 truck towing a boat.
CHP Officer Carlos Burgos-Lopez stated that the motorcycle rider was conscious and breathing when first responders arrived and was moved to the No. 1 lane while emergency personnel attended to the scene.
The rider was transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital with moderate to major injuries. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but driving under the influence is not suspected.
