[04-26-2022] Fresno County, CA – Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 99 Results in One Fatality and Multiple Injuries

One unidentified woman was killed, and several others were injured in a multi-vehicle crash involving five vehicles in southeast Fresno early Tuesday morning, April 26, 2022.

According to California Highway Patrol officers, a woman driving a Dodge Stratus slammed into a wall on the right side of the highway. Her car slammed into the wall, veered across all three lanes, and ended up in the median in the middle.

Another motorist came to a halt to assist. The Jeep of that person was hit and rolled over. Then, at least two more vehicles became involved in a chain reaction.

The woman in the Stratus was killed instantly.

The others sustained minor to moderate injuries.

The cause of the woman’s loss of control of her vehicle is still being investigated.

For more than two hours, traffic on Highway 99 was gridlocked.

All northbound lanes were reopened shortly after.
