[04-27-2022] Ventura County, CA – 69-Year-Old Bicyclist Killed In Deadly Crash

A 69-year-old bicyclist was killed in a collision with a commercial flatbed truck in Simi Valley Wednesday afternoon, April 27, 2022.

The fatal crash happened at 12:00 p.m. in the area of Los Angeles Avenue and Sycamore Drive.

The authorities identified the 69-year-old as Stephen W. of Simi Valley and was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.

According to authorities, Wright was riding his 10-speed style road bike north on Sycamore Drive, south of Los Angeles Ave, when he was right hooked by the driver of a commercial flatbed truck.

The driver stopped following the crash and cooperated with investigators. The police don’t suspect he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The police say they are still investigating the collision.

The crash caused that area to be shut down for five hours Wednesday afternoon.
