[05-12-2023] Orange County, CA – One Person Sustained Unspecified Injuries After Hit-And-Run Crash In El Modena

One person sustained unspecified injuries after a hit-and-run crash at the El Modena neighborhood in the City of Orange late Friday night, May 12, 2023.

According to the Orange Police Department, the collision occurred near El Modena High School at South Esplanade St. and East Pearl Ave. intersection around 11:35 p.m.

When they arrived at the scene, the officers discovered a white 2002 Honda Civic that had collided with a parked silver Honda Pilot. The Honda was abandoned and appeared to have gunshot damage, which prompted an investigation that flooded the area with law enforcement. However, it was unclear where or when any shots were fired.

One person being treated at Chapman Global Medical Center was possibly involved in the incident and was interviewed by the authorities. Information regarding the patient’s injuries and their involvement in the incident was unknown.

A police helicopter searched the area, and authorities interviewed several people, but no arrests were made.
