[05-13-2022] Napa County, CA - Injuries Reported After a Crash with a Suspected DUI Driver on Highway 221Injuries were reported following a car crash with a suspected DUI driver on Highway 221 on Friday evening, May 13, 2022.

According to the initial reports from local authorities, the accident happened at around 8:45 p.m. on Highway 221 and Highway 29.

A 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling on SR 221 when it failed to slow down and rear-ended a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee at the intersection.

Due to the severity of the impact, the Jeep rear-ended a 2014 Toyota Camry. A 13-year-old American Canyon girl who was a passenger in the Jeep was transferred to Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center by American Medical Response ambulance with minor injuries.

Authorities later determined that the Chevrolet driver was under the influence at the time of the crash. The driver was identified as 68-year-old Susan P. She was arrested for DUI causing injury and booked into the Napa County Jail.

Local authorities are further investigating the case.
