[05-19-2023] Tuolumne County, CA – Four People Hospitalized After Two-Vehicle Head-On Collision on Highway 49

Four people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle head-on collision in Tuttletown, Tuolumne County, on Friday evening, May 19, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred on Highway 49 near Tuttletown School Road in the Tuttletown area when two pickup trucks collided head-on, blocking all traffic.

Authorities stated that four occupants were hurt, and an air ambulance was rushed to the scene for one person with significant injuries. Three additional people were injured in the collision, two with moderate injuries and one with minor injuries.

The authorities released no further details, and it is unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. The investigation is still underway.
