[05-31-2023] Male Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle in City HeightsA male pedestrian in his 60s was killed after getting struck by a vehicle in San Diego early Wednesday morning, May 31, 2023.

According to the San Diego Police Department, they received a call at 4:53 a.m. regarding an unconscious individual in the City Heights neighborhood on Fairmount Park area at the 4100 block of Home Avenue.

When responding officers arrived in the area, they discovered the man was involved in a pedestrian accident.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been made public.

The vehicle driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the officers.

Alcohol or drugs don’t seem to have played a role in the crash. Additional details on the events leading up to the crash were not immediately available.
