[06-05-2023] Contra Costa County, CA – At Least 3 People Injured After Multi-Vehicle Big Rig Collision in Byron

At least three people were injured following a multi-vehicle big rig collision in Byron, Contra Costa County, on Monday morning, June 5, 2023.

According to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District, the incident happened on Byron Highway near Camino Diablo at around 6:48 a.m.

The first responders found multiple vehicles at the scene, the first crash victim, and two big rigs that were involved. Another vehicle and a semi-truck stopped to render aid.

CCCFPD officers were responding to a crash incident and found three victims with serious injuries. An air extraction was requested, with the destination being Excelsior Middle School.

There is still no clear picture of what occurred during and leading up to this incident.
