The suspect vehicle has a damaged front end, according to the police, who are currently searching for it.
Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident Statistics
One of the most frightening things that can happen to you is an accident caused by another driver’s carelessness. Things will only worsen if the other driver does not stop and accept responsibility for the collision.
Sadly, hit-and-runs happen far too frequently. Hit-and-run accidents claimed the lives of 2,049 Americans last year. Approximately 680,000 hit-and-run accidents occur in the United States each year. One pedestrian is involved in a fatal car crash in the US every week.
There is no immediate recovery for the victim in the event of a pedestrian accident caused by a careless driver.
The reason why someone leaves the scene of an accident is subjective to a large extent. Those who are more vulnerable to car accidents are more likely to get into an accident themselves. Motorists are more likely to flee the scene of an accident than to face the consequences of their actions if alcohol is involved.
