[06-06-2023] Butte County, CA – Driver Killed, Another Severely Injured After Reckless Two-Vehicle Collision in Chico

A driver was killed, and another person was severely injured after a reckless two-vehicle collision in Chico late Tuesday evening, June 06, 2023.

According to the Chico Police Department, the fatal collision happened around 9:45 p.m. between East Avenue and Cohasset Road.

A stolen blue Dodge sedan was reportedly speeding along East Avenue and Mariposa Avenue. The police didn’t pursue it, but the sedan later ran the red light and collided with a silver Hyundai.

The stolen Dodge driver died at the scene, while the other driver sustained severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

The authorities have not released further information about the victims and the fatal collision.
