[06-07-2023] Butte County, CA – 53-Year-Old Male Pedestrian Killed After Being Hit By Vehicle in Oroville

A 53-year-old male pedestrian identified as Richard C. was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Oroville on Wednesday night, June 7, 2023.

The Oroville Police Department received a call about the collision on the Olive Highway southbound shoulder near Kampong Court at around 8:19 p.m.

Authorities stated that officers discovered the unconscious pedestrian on the southbound shoulder. Despite the administered life-saving measures, Richard C. died at the scene due to his injuries.

Officials said a 2015 Dodge Charger driver hit the man after failing to stop in time. They further stated that the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with OPD.

No further information has been published, and it is uncertain whether drugs played a role in the collision. The driver’s identity will not be released.
