[06-07-2023] Los Angeles County, CA – Homeless Person Seriously Injured Following Solo-Vehicle Crash in Van Nuys

A homeless person was seriously injured when a car crashed into an encampment in Van Nuys, Los Angeles, on Wednesday morning, June 7, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred near the 405 Freeway Roscoe on-ramp at around 12:15 a.m.

Officials from the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles Fire Department said the vehicle flew off the on-ramp and landed on the victim’s tent.

The car directly impacted the victim, who was rushed to the closest medical center in critical condition, while the car’s driver did not sustain any injuries.

It is unclear whether drugs or alcohol were involved in this incident.
