Hit-and-Run Accident Statistics

An accident caused by another driver’s carelessness is one of the most terrifying things that can happen to you. Things will only worsen if the other driver does not stop and accept responsibility for the collision.

Unfortunately, hit-and-runs occur far too frequently. Last year, 2,049 people were killed in hit-and-run accidents in the United States. In the United States, approximately 680,000 hit-and-run accidents occur each year. Every week, one pedestrian is killed in a car accident in the United States.

In the event of a pedestrian accident caused by a careless driver, the victim will not be able to recover immediately.

To a large extent, the reason why someone leaves the scene of an accident is subjective. Those who are more susceptible to car accidents are more likely to be involved in one. When alcohol is involved, drivers are more likely to flee the scene of an accident rather than face the consequences of their actions.
