[06-08-2023] 18-Year-Old Female Passenger Dead After Being Ejected from Vehicle in San Jose CrashAn 18-year-old female passenger was killed in a solo-vehicle crash after being ejected from a vehicle near the Milpitas and San Jose border on Thursday morning, June 8, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on northbound Interstate 880, north of Montague Expressway, at around 12:50 a.m.

A 2007 Dodge Caliber was heading north at 65-75 mph on the interstate when the 18-year-old driver lost control while making an unsafe left turn.

As a result, the driver overshot the turn and hit the center barrier before bouncing off all the way to the right side of the highway, hitting a raised strip, overturning the vehicle, and slamming into a wall.

The woman was ejected after not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. She was pronounced dead at 1:10 a.m.

There was no more information regarding the condition of the male driver or whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in this incident.
