[06-09-2022] San Diego County, CA – One Dead After Being Hit by Amtrak Train in Encinitas

According to the police, One person was struck and killed by a train in Encinitas early Thursday morning, June 9, 2022.

The fatal collision transpired at 5:07 a.m. on the tracks along North Coast Highway and West Jason Street in Encinitas.

According to Lieutenant Ryan Wisniewski of the sheriff’s department, a pedestrian was hit by an Amtrak train and died at the accident scene.

The train was allowed to depart shortly before 7:20 in the morning.

The sheriff’s rail unit will carry out the investigation.

There has been no immediate disclosure of any information regarding the victims who have passed away.
