[06-13-2023] Siskiyou County, CA – Hit-and-Run: Double-Amputee Woman Severely Injured After Being Struck by Vehicles in Yreka

A 28-year-old woman with both legs amputated was severely injured after being struck by two vehicles that fled the scene in Yreka on Tuesday morning, June 13, 2023.

According to the Yreka Police Department, the incident occurred just before 3:10 a.m. near the 1000 block of South Main Street.

The report said officers were on patrol when they discovered a woman lying on the road.

Upon investigation, the police determined that the woman was struck by a northbound vehicle and possibly by another car shortly after. Neither of the vehicles stopped to offer assistance or contact emergency services.

The unidentified victim was taken to the trauma team at Fairchild Medical Center and later airlifted to Mercy Medical Center in Redding. Her current condition is unknown.

The investigation is ongoing. Authorities are requesting any information regarding a white pickup truck and black sedan that was observed traveling north on S. Main Street.
