Three people were taken to the hospital with injuries after a multi-vehicle crash in Kings County on Tuesday, June 14, 2022.
The crash occurred around 11:10 p.m. on I-5 just north of Highway 41, south of Kettleman City.
Two trucks and a car reportedly collided in a series of collisions.
According to the California Highway Patrol, an Audi traveling south on I-5 made an unsafe turn and collided with the side of a big rig trailer traveling in the same direction.
The Audi driver then lost control of the vehicle, flipping it over and landing on its roof.
The big rig crashed into a ravine after going down an embankment.
The CHP was informed by a witness that the Audi driver exited his vehicle to look down into the ravine at the big rig.
He was then struck by a box truck at that point.
The box truck driver failed to stop and is now wanted for hit-and-run.
The big rig driver and the car driver were both flown to the hospital by helicopter with serious injuries.
A passenger in the big rig was also injured and taken to the hospital.
It has not been determined yet whether the crash was caused by alcohol or drugs.
Multi-Vehicle Crash Statistics
The number of traffic accidents rises as the state’s economy grows. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a total of 3,304 people were killed in car accidents in 2010.
Cars can be deadly in California, especially if you’re unfamiliar with the roads. The drivers could have done more to avoid these accidents. Human error is to blame for nearly all accidents, with 94% of them.
Depending on the extent of the damage, a car accident injury may be painful or even fatal for the injured party. Because car accidents happen so frequently, it’s easy for drivers to lose sight of the dangers they pose.
When three or more vehicles collide, the result is a multi-vehicle accident. A head-on collision can result in a six-car pileup.
According to a new NHTSA study, over 13,000 people were killed in multi-vehicle collisions in 2010.
Kings County Car Accident Lawyers
Because there are only two people at fault in a two-car accident, bringing charges against the responsible parties is much simpler. Collisions involving more than one vehicle are more difficult to deal with.
Identifying who is at fault becomes more difficult in this situation. In the event of a multiple-vehicle collision, many people could have been injured.
You may not want to put your faith in an insurance company if it is difficult to determine who was at fault in a multi-vehicle collision. Insurance companies put their own financial interests ahead of those of their customers, so don’t put your trust in a quick resolution to your claim.
