[06-15-2023] Los Angeles County, CA – Four People Killed Following Suspected DUI High-Speed Single-Vehicle Crash on 110 Freeway

Four people believed to be in their 20s were killed following a suspected DUI high-speed single-vehicle crash in South Los Angeles late Thursday evening, June 15, 2023.

The collision occurred shortly after 11:40 p.m. on the southbound lanes of the 110 freeway at the Slauson Avenue exit, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Authorities stated that the driver of the four-door sedan lost control due to excessive speed. The vehicle slipped off the freeway and struck a wall mere feet from the Slauson Ave. on-ramp.

Officials reported that the vehicle caught fire, trapping the driver and three occupants inside. The CHP verified that there were no survivors in the fatal collision.

Authorities also said that speed played a role in the collision and that they discovered a nitrous oxide tank and one serving of alcohol inside the car.

The investigation is ongoing.
