[06-15-2023] Unidentified Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle on SR-371 Near AnzaAn unidentified pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle along State Route 371 in Aguanga near Anza, Riverside County, on Thursday afternoon, June 15, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred around 2:35 p.m. near the intersection of the two-lane corridor and Highway 79.

Officials said Riverside County Fire Department personnel arrived quickly before 3:00 p.m. and declared the unidentified pedestrian dead.

No more information was available, but the authorities stated that the victim was struck by a Ford F-150 pickup truck. The pickup driver was reportedly not injured. CHP officers questioned him, but no arrest was made.

At 5:00 p.m., Highway 371 remained partially blocked at the intersection while officers and a coroner’s office conducted a preliminary investigation.

The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact the police as soon as possible.
