[06-16-2023] Kern County, CA – Man Sustains Major Injuries Following Hit-and-Run in East Bakersfield

A man in his 30s is hospitalized with major injuries after a hit-and-run collision in East Bakersfield on Friday morning, June 16, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred near the intersection of Edison Highway and Webster Street at around 3:32 a.m.

A 2018 Nissan Sentra was traveling eastbound on the highway when it struck the victim.

The victim was found on the roadway, and the driver who struck him was nowhere in sight.

The suspect’s vehicle was later found abandoned near the corner of Kentucky Street and Center Street. No information is available on the driver.

It is uncertain whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in this incident.
