[06-16-2023] San Bernardino County, CA – Woman Died, Two More Hospitalized After Single-Vehicle High-Speed Crash Near Twentynine Palms

A woman died, and two more were injured after a single-vehicle crash near Twentynine Palms on Friday morning, June 16, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred around 9:10 a.m. along Amboy Road, north of Bellking Road.

A 50-year-old Toyota driver was traveling together with three more passengers at high speeds when they approached a left curve. The driver steered to the left while on the right shoulder of the road and ended up crossing both lanes and hitting a dirt embankment.

The overturned vehicle injured all three except a 4-year-old passenger. A female passenger named Martha Novoa was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center via helicopter, where she was declared dead.

The driver, Arnulfo S., suffered moderate injuries, while his 30-year-old passenger, Benjamin Nunez, suffered major injuries. Both were taken to the medical center via an ambulance.

The authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the fatal crash.
