[06-17-2023] Kern County, CA – Three People Hospitalized Following Suspected DUI Two-Vehicle Crash in Taft

Three people were hospitalized following a suspected DUI two-vehicle crash in Taft on Saturday evening, June 17, 2023.

According to the Taft Police Department, a gray Toyota Camry was heading southbound when a northbound Toyota Corolla veered into the oncoming lanes and struck it on Highway 119, south of Gardner Field Road.

Authorities stated that three vehicle occupants were sent to Bakersfield hospitals for treatment after suffering mild to moderate injuries.

Officials added that a 25-year-old driver, identified as Apolonia G. of Taft, has been arrested for causing bodily injury while driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a license, and not providing proof of insurance at the collision scene.

There were no more details revealed about the crash or the victims. Anyone with information is advised to contact authorities as soon as possible.

The investigation into the crash continues.
