[06-29-2023] Sacramento County, CA – Two People Injured, One in Critical Condition, Following Two-Vehicle Crash in Citrus Heights

One driver was found in critical condition, and another with minor injuries, after a two-vehicle crash in Citrus Heights on Thursday evening, June 29, 2023.

According to the local authorities, the accident happened at about 7:30 p.m. near Greenback Lane and San Juan Avenue intersection.

It remains unclear what caused the accident, but Citrus Heights Police confirmed it involved a truck and a small sedan that were carried by a flatbed truck at the scene. They added that, based on the vehicle damages, it appears to be a head-on collision.

The driver of the unidentified vehicle sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a local hospital. It was unknown if the other man with minor injuries had been hospitalized.

There has been no public disclosure of the identities of the people involved.

Alcohol, drugs, and speeding did not appear to have played a role in the collision as the investigation continues.
