[06-30-2023] Fresno County, CA – One Hospitalized After Multi-Vehicle Collision, Including Big Rig, near Kingsburg

One person was injured after a collision between two cars and a big rig near Kingsburg on Friday morning, June 30, 2023.

The California Highway Patrol said the accident was reported at about 8:30 a.m. at Mountain View Avenue and Academy Avenue intersection.

According to the reports, a white sedan driving southbound on Academy Avenue ran through a stop light and hit the big rig on its side, sending it into the opposite lane and colliding with a black SUV, pushing it off the road. The big rig, which was empty then, tipped over.

There were no severe injuries to the drivers of the two vehicles involved. However, the big rig driver was hospitalized with unspecified injuries.

The identities of those involved have not been released.

It remains unknown if alcohol or drugs contributed to the collision.
