[07-01-2023] 35-Year-Old Man Killed Following Sedan vs. Freightliner Crash on Ventura FreewayA man was killed after colliding with a Freightliner in a construction zone on the Ventura Freeway near Studio City in Los Angeles on Saturday morning, July 1, 2023.

According to California Highway Patrol Officer C. Ochoa, the incident occurred on the eastbound lanes of Ventura Freeway, east of Colfax Avenue, at around 3:02 a.m.

Manikanta G., a Simi Valley resident driving his 2016 Mercedes Benz sedan, collided with a 2020 Freightliner sweeper truck in an active Caltrans construction zone. The Mercedes burst into flames after impact.

Gandham was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 26-year-old truck driver reported pain and was brought to a nearby hospital.

The medical examiner’s office reported that Gandham died of thermal burns.
