[07-02-2023] Serious Collision on Colorado River, 15-Year-Old Boy Injured in Personal Watercraft and Boat CrashA 15-year-old boy was severely injured after his operating personal watercraft collided with a boat on the Colorado River in San Bernardino County on Sunday evening, July 2, 2023.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department reported the incident near Needles Marina, south of the Needles Bridge, around 5:40 p.m.

As per the release, the teenage boy was traveling south on the river when he turned in front of the boat. Despite both operators’ efforts to avoid the collision, the crash occurred.

The boy was airlifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment for his significant injuries. Fortunately, the boat operator remained uninjured, and it was determined that alcohol did not contribute to the collision.

The identities of the individuals involved in the collision and the cause of the crash remain undisclosed. The investigation is ongoing.
