According to the Fresno Fire Department, an early morning fire killed a 7-year-old in what authorities are calling a homicide by arson in central Fresno Wednesday, July 6, 2022.
According to Battalion Chief Devin McGuire, the Fresno Fire Department responded before 5:00 a.m. to the fire near College and McKenzie avenues to find the home burning.
He claimed that six people were in the house when the fire began. The kid passed away in the house.
Isaac V., a 7-year-old Fresno boy, was identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office.
According to a police announcement at around 1:30 p.m., the fire likely started intentionally. According to the statement, homicide was the cause of the boy’s death.
According to the battalion chief, three adults and two teenagers made up the other five occupants. He claimed that one of the teenagers suffered injuries after falling from the home’s second-story window.
The house is a total loss, according to McGuire. He anticipated that crews would spend most of the day on the scene as the cause of the fire was being investigated.
