According to the San Diego Police Department, the crash happened around 2:00 a.m. in the 2900 block of Juniper Street.

An unknown driver was driving eastbound on Juniper and struck a male pedestrian searching through trash cans.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. His condition remains undisclosed.

The authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the crash.
