[07-14-2023] Woman Killed, Man Injured Following Reckless Driving Accident Involving Semi-Truck on Manning AvenueA woman was killed, while a 21-year-old man sustained major injuries after a reckless driving accident involving a semi-truck in west Fresno County on Friday morning, July 14, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at Manning Avenue and South McMullin Grade Avenue that morning.

A semi-truck was traveling down the avenue where there was only a two-way stop when it struck a 2012 Dodge Avender that did not stop at the stop sign. The truck driver could not avoid the car and collided with the passenger side, resulting in both vehicles ending up in a vineyard.

The woman in the passenger seat was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver was brought to Community Regional Medical Center with major injuries. The truck driver was not hurt and remained at the scene.

No information was released regarding the identities of the people involved.

The Dodge driver will be charged with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter.v
