[07-14-2026] Alameda County, CA – Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Dump Truck in Oakland

A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a dump truck in Oakland on Tuesday evening, July 14, 2026.

According to police, the incident occurred around 6:22 p.m. at the intersection of High Street and Coliseum Way.

A dump truck driven by a 25-year-old Oakland man was making a left turn from High Street onto Coliseum Way when it struck a pedestrian crossing from the east side of High Street.

The pedestrian, believed to be a 37-year-old Oakland resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Authorities said the truck driver remained at the scene and has been cooperating with traffic investigators. Preliminary reports indicate that speed and alcohol do not appear to have been factors in the collision.

The Alameda County Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
