A 59-year-old man identified as Tomas C. died, and a 32-year-old passenger was injured after a solo car crash in Lamont, Kern County, on Sunday evening, July 16, 2023.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the accident scene that occurred on Highway 58 at 7:05 p.m.
According to the report, Campusano was driving a 2003 Kia Sedona east of Broome Road when, under unknown circumstances, his vehicle veered off the road and onto a dirt shoulder.
The Kia overturned during the incident, and since Campusano was not wearing a seatbelt, he passed away at the scene.
The passenger, Rodrigo H., was also in the vehicle and suffered minor injuries and complaints of pain due to the crash.
The cause of the incident is still unknown.
The investigation is ongoing.
