Two minors sustained severe injuries after being thrown from a car during a rollover accident in Monterey County on Sunday morning, July 16, 2023.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 11:11 a.m. on northbound Highways 101 and 198.
The incident involved a silver GMC Envoy driven by a woman from Salinas who experienced a rear tire blowout while traveling on Northbound Highway 101.
This caused her vehicle to roll over multiple times before coming to rest on a nearby frontage road.
Following the collision, the two juvenile passengers were ejected from the car. Both of them were airlifted to a local hospital for medical treatment.
The authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
