According to the Napa County Sheriff’s Office, two people were killed in a plane crash in Napa County early Sunday morning, July 17, 2022.
The crash occurred around 8:30 a.m. in Napa County near Pope Valley.
The crash also reportedly started a fire. According to a tweet from Cal Fire Sonoma Lake Napa Unit (Cal Fire LNU), Napa County Fire (NCF) and the one-acre brush fire close to Berryessa Estates in Napa County have received assistance.
The Estates Fire, which has a 1-acre area under its control, was given that name by Cal Fire LNU.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is still investigating the crash.
The Napa County Medical Examiner & Coroner is working on identifying the two victims.
