Car Crash Statistics
Single-vehicle accidents kill an alarming number of people in California every year.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a single vehicle is involved in 62 percent of all fatal car accidents in California. Several potential hazards should be on your radar as a California driver.
A wide range of factors can cause accidents involving only one vehicle. A runaway vehicle or an off-the-road accident can be caused by driving too fast or making sharp turns on a slippery road. A large branch or other debris may have washed ashore from the truck’s back. This may also be a contributing factor in traffic accidents.
Your insurance policy’s comprehensive coverage plan, even if another driver’s negligence was to blame for the single-car accident, would most likely limit your compensation.
